ALERT!!—Bus Riders Must Wear Face Masks

Mendocino Transit Authority will begin requiring all passengers on MTA buses to wear a face mask as of Friday, May 1.

Most bus riders, like Delbert Osborn Jr., already wear face masks for coronavirus protection. Beginning May 1, masks will be required on MTA buses.

This is in response to an order issued last week by Mendocino County’s Public Health Officer to require Mendocino County residents to wear face masks in public.  The order (CA Health and Safety Code 120295, et seq.) is intended to reduce or stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Beginning on Friday, May 1, you’ll have to wear a face mask in order to board any MTA bus.

You may notice other safety measures that Mendocino Transit Authority has installed on buses in the last few weeks:  Every other row of seats is taped off to encourage social distancing, and your driver is wearing a mask and is protected by a plexiglass shield.

MTA is very concerned about your health and safety and that of our drivers.  You can help by staying home if you feel sick, observing social distancing while on board, and using the onboard hand sanitizers.  MTA appreciates how safety-conscious our riders already are and thanks you for your cooperation.
